Getting cooler, but afternoons are still warm. What to do if your boss finds out you’re looking for another job. Got two workouts in cause was off work early. Tried out the steel mace, a little awkward at the moment. Barista competition at Fortune Plaza mall, coffee showcase next week outside. Lots of wasted coffee and milk but some very nice designs. Lions, flowers, horses. And a judge in yoga pants which seemed a little odd. Massive rainfall just as we were getting back. Hail n everything. Started the DELTA, key thing seems to be to read the question and only answer as much as you need to in the format they suggest (which requires reading up on previous exam papers and examiner feedback).

Cicadas are noticeably gone, crickets are back. Sichuan earthquake! Communities were in lock down! Reading magazines: extensive or just expensive waste? But if I need to know something then I need to read it in English. How do I change this? Still studying characters in isolation – morning walk for 45 minutes! Ukraine on the offensive. How can that border ever not have soldiers on it any more? Even once things have settled there will need to be a military presence. Last Eastern European language class for now, at least I have some more time. But this war has me thinking that whatever the outcome, knowing BOTH of the languages might actually be handy Double workouts cause I had the time… apparently THE VIRUS rages outside of the capital. The eighth already! Days are flying by! Chinese characters and a conversation class coming up. 30 minutes. We’ll see how this goes. My issue with English being a lingua franca… Apparently gotta renew my work permit again! So that has to be done sometime soon. DELTA course continues, might switch the timing of doing those videos. The Queen has died. After 70 years on the throne and 96 years of life, Her Majesty the Queen of England, Elizabeth the Second, has passed. Now King Charles takes the throne, but he’s not so young. Chinese class went alright, teacher was from just outside of Shanghai so a bit cheaper and soke different pronunciations. Practiced vocab just before class and that seemed to activate the schema. Two year wait to get a car in Canada?! Supply chain issues?! Makes me think about what I see around here: almost no Jaguars and far fewer Lamborghinis and Ferraris. Still some Audis, BMWs and Mercedes, lots more Nio, Xpeng, Teslas. Day off on Monday for the Queen’s funeral, and apparently not all are sad that she’s gone. Even in Canada! Would it matter? Did some light jogging today to get the back moving, surprised how much it hurts! Would you learn Ukrainian? Digital currencies and the future of power. Net zero carbon… forget controlling digital currency, what if they controlled the lights? If they could monitor, through smart tech, that your power expenditure was greater than what you put in, how ever that would work, and then either cut your expenditure or simply fined you. All monitored through smart home tech.

Thinking that I’ll start a separate channel on Youtube for the audio digest so I can compile Youtube clips and things. It’s also a bit of a different focus than my main YouTube channel… which is just a bunch of unedited travel clips.
Reading up on London’s history. Still very fascinating.

Welp, as expected, Friday went on. Kinda lost Saturday. That’s why you do these things on a Thursday. Physio was all right. Spent a lot of time on that piriformis. Trainer handed in his resignation… and was rejected! This must be big business in China cause it was difficult to get an appointment. Apparently they do a lot of work with the national teams. Eating garlic all day because of some sort of head congestion. It burns a little to eat the garlic raw but… it helps! Not too much at one time though or else it upsets your stomach. Orange juice, green tea, and lots of fluids. Fraud training. May seem obvious, but it bares repeating. VTubing – using an avatar to stream. Not a bad idea! Will this lead into the Metaverse – how to be famous and wealthy… without revealing who you are. Will it work? Aaaannndd….. you asked, and now you receive! Asteroid hit! NASA does another first. Discourse analysis… all the things that are so obvious most wouldn’t bother to state them. Popped up the rest of the episodes for the big cast, now available on the major platforms. YouTube… well, ooops. Can only use your phone number to verify two channels per year. So do I wait or find someone else’s to use? Was thinking of using those burner phone websites but… they publish the phone numbers that text to it! DELTA… Discourse Analysis: basically all those break room conversations that you’ve had with fellow ESL teachers about the theories of this and that… none of which is directly applicable to the classroom. Dave Smith on Joe Rogan, talks about a deal that could have been accepted… luckily he starts going through the history of how we got here or else I would have said it’s a bit shortsighted. To be clear, back in 1991 Ukraine AGREED to give up its nuclear weapons in exchange for guarantees that Russia wouldn’t invade. People now say that was contingent on no NATO expansion. NATO expands. Why did NATO expand? Cause countries saw how much better they would be treated if they went West instead of East!
Pro-US or Pro-West? Says something about NATO expanding which was a violation of ‘the deal’ back in 1990s. Colbery Report: Gideon Rose talks about Ukraine trying to up its game cause… life would suck under Russia. Ukrainian govt tries to go pro-Russia, pro-West forces in Ukraine overthrow the govt. And? Yes, Ukrainians made a choice to go along with it because they knew what shit awaited them under Moscow! Sure, blame the US! BLAME THEM! Ukraine isn’t new to this, but they did want it to stop! To be their own country, to make their own decisions. Pro-NATO, why not? THAT IS A CHOICE!
Had a colleague want to give money to a lady from Ukraine, don’t know why he brought me over to the table but to verify that she was indeed Ukrainian. She seemed enough to be.
